Frequently Asked Questions
Where Should I Begin?
If you are new to this website, I would recommend beginning with the articles regarding Glorification. Although most articles are written to stand on their own, they all rest upon the same theological foundation presented under Glorification. This work presents the biblical framework from which the rest of the articles have been written and presents what I believe is a Scriptural based overview of what God has progressively revealed of the Eternal Purpose regarding our relationship to Him.
Rather than examining isolated doctrines, it traces one continuous story throughout Scripture—from Creation to New Creation—revealing God’s eternal purpose accomplished through Jesus Christ.
Among other questions, this study explores:
- Why did God create mankind?
- What did God mean when He declared creation “very good”?
- Why was the Fall permitted?
- Why does God allow evil?
- Why does God not just restore us to a pre-fallen condition?
- Why was redemption necessary?
- Why did the eternal Son become the Second Adam?
- Why does Scripture say Christ was made perfect?
- Why is Christ not only our Savior and Redeemer, but also our Perfecter?
- Why is salvation not the end of God’s work?
- What is glorification?
- Why is the New Creation greater than the first creation?
This study argues that Scripture presents one unified purpose running from Genesis to Revelation. Creation, the Fall, Redemption, and Glorification are not separate doctrines but successive stages in God’s eternal plan to bring redeemed humanity, through Jesus Christ, to the perfection for which it was created from the beginning.
Once this framework is understood, the remaining articles on this website will be easier to follow, because each builds upon the theological foundation established here. Go there Now
What is Our Statement of Faith?
The Holy Scriptures
We believe that the original texts that make up the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, true and inerrant Word of God, verbally inspired by the Holy Spirit and preserved by God’s providence as the sole, final, and sufficient authority for all matters of faith and practice. We affirm that Scripture is its own best interpreter. No doctrine is to be established upon isolated verses, human tradition, philosophical speculation, or private interpretation apart from the progressive revelation of Scripture.
Because God cannot lie, contradict Himself, or deny His own nature, we believe that Scripture contains no true contradictions or paradoxes. Where apparent contradictions exist, they reflect limitations in human understanding or errors in interpretation rather than deficiencies in God’s Word.
God
We believe in one eternal, self-existent, sovereign, holy, righteous, loving, just, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent God, Creator and Sustainer of all things. God exists eternally as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each is fully and completely God, sharing the one undivided divine essence while remaining eternally distinct in person and relationship.
We affirm the historic doctrine of the Trinity while recognizing that human language can never exhaustively describe the infinite nature of God. All theological language must remain subordinate to Scripture itself.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, fulfilled the Law perfectly, died as the substitutionary sacrifice for sinners, was bodily raised from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father where He continually intercedes for His people.
We believe that salvation is found in Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which men must be saved.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God and is actively at work in convicting the world of sin, regenerating sinners, indwelling believers, sanctifying the Church, illuminating the Scriptures, distributing spiritual gifts according to His will, and empowering believers for holy living and faithful witness.
Humanity
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, male and female, for fellowship with Him. Through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world, bringing spiritual death, corruption, and separation from God to all humanity. Every person inherits a fallen nature and stands guilty before God because of his or her own sin.
Humanity is therefore incapable of saving itself and stands in continual need of God’s grace.
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Justification is a gracious act of God whereby He declares righteous all who place their faith in Jesus Christ, not on the basis of their own works or merit, but solely because of Christ’s righteousness imputed to them through faith.
Good works are the fruit of genuine faith and never its cause.
Baptism
We believe there is one spiritual baptism by which every believer is united with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection through the work of the Holy Spirit.
We further believe that water baptism is an ordinance instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ and is the public testimony of one’s faith and identification with Him. It is an act of obedience for every believer but is neither the means of regeneration nor a prerequisite for salvation.
The Church
We believe in one universal Church composed of all who have been born again through faith in Jesus Christ. We distinguish between the invisible Church, consisting of all true believers known perfectly to God, and the visible church, consisting of all who outwardly profess faith in Christ. While the visible church has experienced periods of doctrinal corruption throughout history, Christ has faithfully preserved His true Church in every generation.
The Church exists to glorify God through worship, the faithful preaching of His Word, the administration of the ordinances, mutual edification, and the proclamation of the Gospel.
The Interpretation of Scripture
We believe that every doctrine must be tested by Scripture. No theological system, creed, confession, tradition, philosopher, reformer, or church father possesses authority equal to the written Word of God. Historical theology is valuable and worthy of careful study, but all human writings remain subject to correction by Scripture.
Truth is never determined by popularity, antiquity, or tradition but by its faithfulness to the inspired Word of God.
The Nature of Truth
We believe that every true doctrine must harmonize with the revealed nature and character of God. Because God is holy, righteous, truthful, just, loving, and immutable, no biblical interpretation may legitimately attribute to Him anything contrary to His revealed character.
We therefore reject every interpretation that creates genuine contradiction within Scripture or that diminishes the glory, holiness, justice, wisdom, love, or sovereignty of God.
Last Things
We believe in the personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the final judgment, the everlasting joy of the redeemed in the presence of God, and the eternal punishment of those who reject Christ.
Final Authority
We confess that Holy Scripture alone is the final authority for every matter of faith and practice. Where our understanding differs from God’s Word, we willingly submit ourselves to Scripture, recognizing that God’s truth is perfect while our understanding remains incomplete.
Our desire is not merely to defend theological systems but to faithfully proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the glory of God alone.
What must I do to be saved?
Salvation is the greatest gift ever offered to mankind. It is not something we can earn through good works, religious effort, or moral living, but is the free gift of God’s grace received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Every person has sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect holiness, and because God is perfectly just, sin separates us from Him and leaves us spiritually dead and unable to restore that relationship by our own efforts. Yet because God is also perfect in love, mercy, and compassion, He did not leave us in our hopeless condition. Instead, He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to bear the penalty for our sins through His death on the cross and to secure our victory over sin and death through His resurrection. Through faith in Christ, God forgives our sins, declares us righteous, adopts us into His family, and gives us the gift of eternal life. Salvation is therefore far more than escaping judgment—it is the beginning of a restored relationship with the God who created us, loves us, and desires that we know Him personally. From the very beginning, God’s purpose has been to dwell with His people and enjoy fellowship with them. Through salvation, we are reconciled to our Heavenly Father, transformed by His Spirit, and invited to walk with Him each day in the joy, peace, hope, and assurance that only He can give.
To receive Christ as your Lord and Savior – to be saved – you need to:
- ADMIT your spiritual need. “I am a sinner”
- REPENT and be willing to turn from your sin.
- BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross. Trust in His promises!
- RECIEVE through prayer, Jesus Christ into your heart and life. Accept and Submit to Him as your Lord and Savior.
What to pray:
Dear Lord Jesus: I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe that you died for my sins. Today, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life to receive you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me. Amen
To grow in your faith, take a firm stand for Christ, and start by telling someone about your decision. Read and study God’s word. Pray every day and identify with a Bible teaching Church for worship, fellowship and service.
